James holds a Bachelor's degree in English and Philosophy, a Bachelor of Audio Enginerring, and is a Cambridge CELTA qualified English language teacher. With more than five years of tutoring experience and over three years of professional English language teaching experience, he has taught at a number of language schools in Auckland as well as in international online classrooms, working with students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds around the world.
Drawing on his strong language expertise and broad humanities background, James specialises in helping Chinese international students develop their academic English skills and overcome challenges in reading, writing, and literary analysis. He is particularly skilled at guiding students to explore the ideas and cultural perspectives behind English texts, while fostering critical thinking, academic communication, and the confidence needed for future academic success.
