With over 13 years of experience in English language education, Abby is passionate about helping learners build confidence and achieve their academic, professional, and personal goals. Holding a Master of TESOL from the University of Auckland and a bachelor’s degree in Intercultural Communication, Abby has worked across a range of educational settings in both New Zealand and China. Throughout her career, she has taken on a variety of roles including ESOL teacher, curriculum designer, academic mentor and program manager.
Abby has extensive experience preparing learners for a wide range of English language assessments, including IELTS, TOEFL, SAT, and NZCEL programmes. She believes that effective exam preparation should go beyond test strategies and focus on developing real-world language skills. Her teaching approach combines academic English, critical thinking, and communication skills to help students succeed both inside and outside the classroom. Having worked with learners from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds, Abby is committed to creating inclusive learning environments where every student feels supported and empowered.
Abby believes that effective learning begins with understanding each learner’s unique strengths, challenges, and goals. She enjoys helping students develop personalised learning plans that support their academic, professional, and personal aspirations. Outside work, Abby enjoys travelling, exploring different cultures, dancing, and learning new skills. She sees learning as a lifelong journey and believes that curiosity and continuous growth create opportunities both inside and outside the classroom.
